The Rose House at Red Butte Gardens, SLC UT | Hannah & Camden Wedding

Ok, can I tell you how much I love intimate weddings? Hannah and Camden’s wedding day was celebrated with their closest friends and family. They got married at the Rose House at Red Butte Gardens in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their Spring wedding was perfect. The gardens were looking so beautiful and the weather was just right. Plus they got married on May the 4th so they had some Star Wars themes which I will tell about in a second.

I say I love intimate weddings because I get to learn so much more about the couple from not only them but from their closest people. Hannah and Camden are good, good people. They are so kind, so good to their friends and family and so amazing and in love with each other. They just go together.

While they were getting ready, Hannah gave a necklace to each of her bridesmaids. Her flower girl was her 11 year old cousin and Hannah treated her like a princess. Her bridesmaids helped Hannah get in her beautiful dress that she got from the Bride Room. In the Groom’s room, Camden’s brothers helped him “get ready” or just laughed with him as he put on his suit coat, haha. He got his brown suit from Amazon.

After they were done getting ready, they chose to do a first look with just the two of them. It was such a sweet moment when Camden turned around to see Hannah for the first time.

Now it was time for the ceremony! The ceremony was on a grassy lawn next to the rose house that had a beautiful arch. Hannah’s dad walked her down the aisle…to a Star Wars song. It was epic. They read their vows and then were married. They walked back down to a Star Wars song. I loved it so much.

They had a luncheon next where the wedding party spoke. The highlight was when Hannah dad told a story about a bead getting stuck in Hannah’s nose when she was a child and they had to go to the ER for a a very expensive visit. He kept that bead all these years and made it into a ring. He made it a point to say that it was a very expensive ring.

After the reception started. They greeted their guests and then the party started! It was such a fun dance party. They also played the shoe game, cut their cake and threw the bouquet. After the dancing, Hannah and Camden had a sparkler send off on his motorcycle. It was so awesome! We did a mini photoshoot on the motorcycle beforehand that was fun.

I’m so happy for these two!

Ivy House, Salt Lake City Utah | Emma and Luke Wedding

I got the privilege to photograph Emma and Luke’s wedding day in May. It was such a beautiful Spring day at the Draper Temple.

I didn’t get to meet them before, but man, they are some of the kindest people ever. I got to know more about them during their luncheon when their family spoke about them. All I can say is, GOALS. These two are a power couple and have done and will do amazing things.

Their reception was at the Ivy House in Salt Lake City. Their families and the florist, Andrew, did an amazing job decorating it. We did a few pictures outside before the reception started. Their wedding party was so much fun!

Emma chose light pink and blue as her wedding colors which was perfect for Spring.

The reception went without a hitch. So many people came to support them that the venue was packed so maybe that was the hitch. It was hard to get anywhere! Emma and Luke cut the cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Then they danced!

It was a beautiful wedding, beautiful people!

Congrats Emma and Luke!

TOP FLOWER PHOTO LOCATIONS IN UTAH

Are you looking for beautiful flowers to be in your engagement or bridal/formal pictures? Here are my favorite Utah locations to go to and the best time of the year to shoot there.

Contact me to schedule a session at one of these beautiful spots!

Utah State Capitol Cherry Blossoms

At the Capitol, the blossoms are gorgeous and they usually are the first to bloom before anywhere else. The best time to shoot here is anywhere from the first to third week of April depending on the year. The best time to go is in the morning or on a weekday evening. The weekends will be very crowded.

orem & elk ridge Orchards

The last week of April to the first couple of weeks of May is best to get the blossoms in orchards. The peaches (pink blossoms) usually come first. Then the cherry (white blossoms) come next. I have a great local orchard in Orem that I love or one in Elk Ridge. I love shooting in orchards!

Tulip Festival, Thanksgiving Point

Thanksgiving point has their tulip festival in April and May. Ashton Gardens is beautiful and there are so many pretty spots here. Consider renting a golf cart to get around quicker. Also try to avoid weekends because of crowds. Go here to see their photography fees.

KyhV PEAK, Provo Canyon

This location is about a mile up Kyhv peak road. The yellow flowers bloom mid to late May. It has beautiful views of Provo canyon.

buffalo peak, provo canyon

One of my favorite spots to shoot. This location is stunning in the summer and fall whether there are flowers or not. There are yellow flowers that bloom in a big field about the 2nd or 3rd week of June. This location has a 10 minute bumpy dirt road that you have to drive on. There is also a 5-10 hike to get to the flower field.

LAVENDER FIELDS, MONA

The lavender fields at Young Living Farms in Mona are gorgeous! They bloom most of July. You have to reserve a time before you go. Each hour costs $75. I’d recommend scheduling a time in March to get one of the sunset times.

albion basin, little cottonwood canyon

This location is probably the most iconic wild flower spot in Utah. The flowers usually bloom at the end of July. The flowers are stunning! Since this spot is so popular, there are ropes to keep you on the trails. The rangers don’t want people to trample the flowers, so you must stay on the path. However, they have about 5-6 photo spots that put you right in the middle of the flowers. The best time to go is a weekday. And don’t forget your bug spray!

Location fee is $12 at the toll booth.

Red Butte Garden

Beautiful location with so many photo spots with all sorts of flowers all throughout Spring and Summer. Requires entry and photography fee. Check here for those prices.

Other flower location ideas:

Ensign Peak- yellow wildflowers

Guardsmans Pass- wildflowers

American Fork Amphitheater- Lilac Bushes

Lambert Park, Alpine- poppy field
